Aim and Scope of the Journal
Aim
Crown: Journal of Dentistry and Health Science is a premier, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to advancing the frontiers of oral and dental science. Our core mission is to be a leading platform for high-impact, innovative research that bridges the gap between foundational molecular science, translational investigation, and impactful clinical practice. We welcome rigorous submissions that explore the full spectrum of dentistry, with a particular focus on evidence-based, interdisciplinary, and technologically advanced approaches to improving global oral health.
Scope
Our scope is comprehensive and includes, but is not limited to, the following key areas:
-
Biomaterials and Regenerative Dentistry: We seek novel research on the development, characterization, and application of advanced biomaterials. This includes, for example, bioactive glasses (borate and strontium-doped), injectable hydrogels, and other smart materials designed for tissue regeneration, vital pulp therapy, and managing the dentin-pulp complex.
-
Cariology and Preventive Dentistry: The journal prioritizes studies on the forefront of caries management. This encompasses the molecular basis of cariogenic biofilms , the development of precision interventions like CRISPRi-mediated gene silencing , and long-term clinical comparisons of minimally invasive treatments such as Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF) and Glass Ionomer Cement (GIC).
-
Periodontology and Implant Dentistry: We publish cutting-edge clinical trials and translational studies focused on the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of periodontal and peri-implant diseases. This includes the evaluation of novel therapeutic modalities like low-level laser therapy (LLLT) for gingivitis and bioactive air-abrasion powders for peri-implant mucositis.
-
Oral Public Health and Epidemiology: The journal is a key venue for population-based research that identifies major health challenges and informs policy. We welcome epidemiological analyses of oral cancer risk factors and longitudinal studies exploring the biological pathways of oral health inequalities, such as the syndemic of stunting, enamel defects, and Early Childhood Caries (ECC).
-
Oral Medicine, Pathology, and Pain Management: We cover research into complex oral conditions, including the diagnosis and management of oral potentially malignant disorders. We also encourage studies on interdisciplinary approaches to complex issues like temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders, integrating fields such as physiotherapy and psychology to improve patient outcomes.
-
Study Methodology: Our journal welcomes a diverse range of high-quality research designs, from foundational in vitro and in vivo animal models to rigorous human-subject studies, including cross-sectional analyses , randomized controlled clinical trials , and long-term prospective cohort studies.
