SJOG is an open-access journal. There is no submission fee. An Article Processing Charge (APC) is levied only after a manuscript has been accepted for publication following peer review, and editorial decisions are never influenced by an author’s ability to pay.

Regional Adjustments for International Authors

Mixed-country authorship. The applicable tier is determined by the country of the corresponding author’s institutional affiliation at the time of submission; where there is more than one corresponding author, the tier follows the primary corresponding author listed in the submission system.

Payment & Conditional Acceptance

After peer review and acceptance, the journal issues a Conditional Acceptance Notification with the APC invoice. The official Letter of Acceptance (LoA) is issued only after the APC has been paid and confirmed. Authors should complete payment within three (3) calendar days of the invoice date; if payment is not completed and no prior written arrangement has been approved, the manuscript may be considered withdrawn and further production halted.

What the APC covers. The APC covers editorial processing, professional copyediting and layout, DOI registration, long-term digital archiving, and permanent open-access hosting — ensuring every article is freely available to readers worldwide at no cost.

ASEAN member states: Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Viet Nam.

Global South Support Countries (Tier A): Afghanistan, Angola, Bangladesh, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Haiti, Iran, Kiribati, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Mozambique, Nepal, Niger, Palestine, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Solomon Islands, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, Tuvalu, Uganda, Ukraine, Yemen, and Zambia.

Fee assistance. Consistent with the journal’s commitment to global women’s health, authors facing genuine financial hardship beyond these tiers may write to the editorial office to request consideration; the ability to pay never affects the editorial decision.
