Manuscript submission

Scientific Journal of Pediatrics (SJPed) receives all manuscripts by e-mail, sent to the editorial office at editor.sjped@gmail.com. There is no submission fee. This dedicated editorial e-mail channel allows the journal to maintain a secure, confidential, and fully documented handling process for every manuscript.

How to Submit

Send a single e-mail to editor.sjped@gmail.com with the subject line:

SJPed Submission – [Article Type] – [Short Title]

Attach the following files (Microsoft Word, .docx, where applicable):

  1. Cover letter — state the article type, the significance of the work, and any waiver request.
  2. Title page (separate file) with all author names, affiliations, ORCID iDs, and the corresponding author's contact details.
  3. Blinded main manuscript (no author-identifying information), with tables and figures embedded near first mention.
  4. SJPed Author Declaration, Authorship & Conflict-of-Interest Statement (completed and signed).
  5. SJPed Parental/Guardian Consent for Publication form (where any identifiable child information or image is included).
  6. Ethics committee / IRB approval (for studies involving humans or animals).
  7. Reporting-guideline checklist appropriate to the study design (CONSORT, STROBE, PRISMA, or CARE).

What Happens After You Submit

  1. Acknowledgement and manuscript ID. The editorial office acknowledges receipt within three (3) working days and assigns a unique manuscript identifier in the form SJPed-YYYY-NNN. Please quote this ID in all subsequent correspondence.
  2. Desk evaluation (within 1 week): screening for scope, completeness, ethical compliance, and textual similarity.
  3. Double-blind peer review (2–3 weeks) by at least two independent experts. To protect anonymity, the editorial office acts as intermediary at all times, forwarding only the blinded manuscript to reviewers and relaying anonymised comments, so that the identities of authors and reviewers are never disclosed to one another.
  4. Decision communicated by e-mail: accept, minor revision, major revision, or reject. See the Peer-Review Process.

Tracking Your Manuscript

You may request a status update at any time by replying to the acknowledgement e-mail thread and quoting your manuscript ID. Every manuscript is logged and tracked by the editorial office from receipt to final decision, providing a complete and auditable record of the editorial process.

Confidentiality

All submitted manuscripts are treated as confidential documents, accessible only to the editorial office, the handling editor, and the assigned reviewers. Manuscripts are not shared with any third party and are not used for any purpose other than evaluation for publication.
