Focus
Sriwijaya Journal of Neurology is a peer-reviewed, international journal dedicated to the publication of high-quality, original research that advances the scientific understanding, diagnosis, and management of neurological diseases. The journal's primary aim is to provide a leading platform for clinicians and neuroscientists to disseminate significant findings in clinical and translational neuroscience, with a strong focus on studies from Indonesia and the broader Southeast Asian region.
Scope
The scope of Sriwijaya Journal of Neurology is comprehensive, encompassing the full spectrum of neurological and neuroscientific inquiry. The journal welcomes manuscripts in the following key areas:
Neurodegenerative Disorders: Original research on the pathophysiology, biomarker development, and disease progression of conditions such as Parkinson's Disease and Alzheimer's Disease, including the longitudinal assessment of CSF and serum biomarkers.
Cognitive Neuroscience and Aging: Studies on cognitive function, impairment, and intelligence. This includes the analysis of cognitive decline in the elderly, occupational factors affecting cognition (e.g., shift work), and the validation of novel neuroimaging and behavioral measures for cognitive assessment.
Neuro-oncology: Epidemiological and clinical studies identifying genetic (e.g., NF2 gene) and modifiable risk factors (e.g., BMI, hypertension) for central nervous system tumors, such as meningioma.
Neuroimmunology and Post-Infectious Syndromes: Investigations into post-infectious neurological complications in both pediatric and adult populations, including Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) and Acute Disseminated Encephalomyelitis (ADEM), as well as the development of novel risk-stratification tools.
Pain and Sensory Disorders: Research exploring the mechanisms of complex neuropathic pain conditions, such as Burning Mouth Syndrome (BMS), using methods like functional neuroimaging (fMRI) and Quantitative Sensory Testing (QST) to investigate central sensitization.
Peripheral Neurology: Clinical and epidemiological analysis of peripheral nerve disorders, including the identification of occupational and systemic risk factors for conditions like Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS).
Methodology: The journal encourages submissions employing rigorous study designs, including prospective cohort studies, case-control studies, and cross-sectional analyses.
