Submission and Editorial Process
SJFM uses email for initial screening and OJS for peer-review tracking after a manuscript passes editorial assessment.
Submit by email
Send the completed template and supporting files to editor.sjfm@gmail.com.
Editorial assessment
Editors assess scope fit, originality and similarity. Similarity checking is supported by ORCA.
Account and tracking
For manuscripts that pass screening, the editorial office creates an OJS account, registers the submission and sends the login information to the author.
Double-blind peer review
Three independent reviewers evaluate the manuscript’s substantive contribution and methodological quality.
Decision synthesis
The editor evaluates all reports and decides: accept, minor revision, major revision or decline.
Author revision
For minor or major revision, authors submit a revised manuscript and a point-by-point response to reviewers and editors.
Final assessment and LoA
Reviewers and editors assess the revision. A Letter of Acceptance is issued when the scientific and editorial requirements are met.
Copyediting and proofreading
The manuscript is copyedited and proofread with support from EIGO, then returned to the author for approval.
Galley proof and publication
Authors complete a final galley check. Once approved, the article enters production and scheduled publication.
